Final Thoughts from the 20-21 Mentorship

IMG-3056_edited.jpg

This entire year has been a crazy roller-coaster. From not knowing where to begin, to finding a mentor, to presenting a nearly thirty minute speech, this year has been both insane and exhilarating. Before this experience, I would have never known that this opportunity was open for high schoolers or that I was capable of such challenges. I have definitely grown tremendously in character, in knowledge, and in discipline.

I am extremely grateful for all of the clinical experiences that I have had, especially with the COVID circumstances. I had the most amazing lessons and opportunities and was able to learn things that I would never have dreamed of in a classroom.

I want to thank Coach Goff, my ISM teacher, who has whole-heartedly supported me and provided me with endless support. She really helped ease me into the entire process and gave me so much continual help along the way.

Finally, I would like to give one last thank you to my mentor.

Dr. Carter has provided me with so many resources and so much knowledge. He has helped me to find a deeper interest both in medicine and this field, and he has not only shown me aspects of clinical appointments but also the little details of office work and note taking. The clinic and the experiences that I have had are core memories that I will never forget and ones that will also help me in the long run.

Dr. Carter, thank you so much for always being so kind and accepting of my numerous questions. I have learned and acquired so much from this opportunity, and I really appreciate all of your help in helping me research for my projects and work. I truly wish you and your family all the best happiness and luck in future endeavors. I hope to stay in touch and see you around! Thank you again!
