And... Go! - 2/01/21

My final product has jump started. Dr. Carter and I revised my final product idea a little bit, and I have finally decided on a treatment case study for chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps. I found that I wanted to research this topic after an experience at the clinic where a lady had severe polyps. After revising my calendar, I wrote my mentor visit assessment with the information I received and then started on a general research assessment on polyps. Today was my original work speech day, and I also had to work on creating the slide show and writing a script over the weekend. While creating my speech, I found many ways that my original work and final product could potentially overlap. Allergies are a cause of nasal polyps and the medications, although they are different, are very similar. Both are able to use a type of shot that gets the body or immune system used to whatever they believe is foreign. With more research, I hope to find why there is no actual treatment for polyps as well as what treatments would work best for most people. At my next mentor visit, I need to ask questions about the research assessment I have started and begin researching medications.
