I am honestly not proud but also proud of my winter break. Not a whole lot of research was done over this break. I did not do a lot of ISM related work; however, I did accomplish a lot of things. First, I got my driver’s license, which could be argued as having nothing to do with ISM, but I can now drive myself to ISM related mentor visits, observations, interviews, symposiums, etc.. Also, I studied for and completed homework for many of the classes I have at school. This will keep me not only caught up but ahead so that it will not interfere with my ISM learning. I did do a little bit of extra reading of articles but it was not enough research to say that I “did work”. I read a couple articles on universal allergy medications that are being researched and tested, which was extremely interesting because I had originally wanted to find one “best allergy medication for all”. With the research that I had done by myself through my original work, I had thought that the universal medication topic would be too difficult as a first time ISM student; therefore, it was really interesting and made me happy to see that there was research being done on this topic. I had felt like this universal medication could not be possible with so many different people reacting to medications in different ways; however, this new research gives me hope. I have not thought of a final product yet but I am excited to start.
