Over a Hill - 1/25/21

This whole week was about contemplating my final project topic. I knew the deadline for the proposal and calendar were coming, but I had no idea what I was going to do. I created a google doc with some topic ideas and project mediums I could use, but I was not completely certain on what to choose. I had a conversation with Coach Goff and she was able to give me some template ideas, and an ISM 2 student told me that if I had seen anything that sparked my interest, I should go with that; therefore, I decided to do my final project on polyp infections. During one of my mentor visits, I saw a patient with severe polyp infections, and I was very interested in what caused it and what treated it. Unfortunately, Dr. Carter said that it may not be completely cured. During my final product research, I will be doing a treatment case study. I will research 2 different treatments and do case studies on both to see which one is more effective. I had a short conversation on the phone with Dr. Carter after deciding the topic and he said that it was a great place to start. After that conversation, I drafted up my proposal and calendar and sent it to him. Tomorrow I have another mentor visit, and I will make sure that I have plenty of questions to ask. My goal for the week is to be able to write a general assessment about polyp infections in order to jump start my research.
