Progress - 10/26/20

Another double assessment week. Unfortunately, I did not have an interview this past week, however, I do have an interview this coming Friday. Technically, this doctor is not quite in my field, but she looks at and researches similar regions as a physician in my chosen topic would. I am looking forward to getting another perspective on the professional realm as well as some information about the throat area. I attempted to contact about six professionals in the last couple days and I will reach out to more in the coming ones as well.

In ISM this week, not only did I write 2 research assessments, but I also finally updated my digital portfolio. I had been putting it off but I finally sat down and completed it. I did a lot of adding, touch-ups, and renaming. It was exciting to see progress, and I am extremely thrilled that I can finally see my portfolio coming together.

Not only did I make progress online, I researched something that I had not been focusing on at all - the impact of COVID on ENT Practices. I had read a lot about COVID and knew that it would impact ENTs in some way but I wanted to know to what extent. The articles I read throughout the week left questions such as to what extent ENTs were being negatively impacted due to limited patients being able to be admitted despite the fact that they may be the busiest during this pandemic.

There is so much information in this field that sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. I hope to schedule more interviews to ask more questions and narrow down what I would like to specialize in soon.
