This week was more than I expected it to be. At the beginning of the week, I had been ready to conduct more research on my own. As the week went on, oh did that change.
First, I presented my research speech to the class on Tuesday. I had known this was coming but I was so nervous. It went well. I had spent the weekend writing and creating my presentation. Monday night I was a nervous wreck, but I pulled myself together by Tuesday morning. I feel good about my speech. I made all the important points that I had wanted to go through, spoke for 11 to 12 minutes, and didn’t use my notes. I’m proud of myself because I’ve never had to do anything like that in my entire life. I really stepped out of my comfort zone and did great.
Next, I had been worried about my research assessment. These are due every Friday, but I had nothing new in particular. It was around Tuesday when I got stuck on what to research. I decided to message Dr. Kenny Carter Jr. on LinkedIn and he kindly recommended that I research Immunotherapy. It was great because it had to do with my original work. I am so grateful for him.
Lastly, about 2 weeks ago, I had scheduled an interview with an otolaryngologist. Unfortunately, she became extremely busy and had to cancel, but I completely understood. She had mentioned that she might have some time November 13, so I decided to follow up on that offer. She replied so quickly, and we had an amazing interview. She was amazing to talk to and I gained so much insight on her everyday life as well as the field.
This week was just full of surprises, and I can’t wait to experience more amazing things.
